What an eventful past week this has been for our little family! Can you imagine? We doubled in size exactly one week ago tomorrow morning at 9:37 a.m. to be exact.
If you think life has been adventurous for Jeni and I, and to a lesser extent for Maggie who has bounced from our house to my parents, back to our house again several times, think about Hope and Grace. They have REALLY had an eventful week.
As our daughters are about to enter their second week of life, the possibility of the PDA surgery becomes more real. While it is super scary for Mom and Dad to think about Hope (and most likely Grace too) possibly having to go through this, it seems like getting that ductus closed for both girls will be a big step in the right direction in terms of aiding their respiratory development. I've been told by folks in the medical community that there is a quick change in respiratory functioning after it gets closed. The girls are strong and feisty and they are fighters. They, like the rest of us, have to just take everything one day (and perhaps even one hour or one minute) at a time.
